Getting Around Boston

We suggest that you avoid driving in Boston if possible! Boston’s streets are congested and confusing, and parking is difficult and expensive. Boston is “America’s Walking City,” and walking is the most common and most pleasurable way to get around. The Park Plaza is very close to many attractions: the Public Gardens, the Boston Common, Back Bay, Beacon Hill, the Freedom Trail, etc.

Public transportation is also an excellent way to get around Boston. For public transportation directions, please go to the MBTA. This user-friendly site includes walking directions from your arrival location to the nearest subway (the “T”) or bus station. The “LinkPass” is ideal for visitors. It’s valid for unlimited use during a preset duration for Subway, Local Bus, and Inner Harbor Ferry travel. It is available for 1 or 7 days. Note that children 11 and under ride FREE on MBTA lines when accompanied by a paying adult!

Information on the various tickets, how and where to buy them can be found here.
