Where
is the ISBI'08 conference center located in
Paris?
The hotel and
conference center are located on the left bank of the Seine
river, in the 14th
arrondissement, near Place Denfert Rochereau which is
directly connected with the 2 parisian airports (Roissy-Charles
de Gaulle and Orly) via the fast subway (RER) and the Orly Bus. A
local map of the hotel & Conference center area
(localized
by the green arrow on the map), with nearby subway's
stations is provided below:

ISBI'08 conference center from Paris airports or train

Some advice and recommendations:
- Vending machine of RER tickets
(RER tickets for a trip starting or ending outside Paris
intra-muros, are special tickets, different from regular
subway tickets). This "unfriendly" machine above does NOT
take credit cards that don't have an electronic chip (e.g.
US credit cards or American Express cards), nor euro bills!
When arriving at CDG airport, you can try to find the
vending counter (with a "friendly" SNCF vendor behind it)
or have some euro change in coins (~ 9 euros).
- The subway network has many
stairs up & down which is not suited for connections
when traveling with big suitcases.
- Orly bus tickets can be
obtained from the bus driver. You must have ~ 7 euros
in cash (have the exact change, no 10 Euros bills...).
- Taxi prices to the Marriott
hotel should be around: 20-40 euros from ORY (Orly
airport), 45-60 euro from CDG (Charles De Gaulles airport)
20-30 euro from Gare du Nord. No tips expected like in the
US...but expect trafic jams in the morning to reach
Paris...
