ISBI09 will be held in the historic Boston Park Plaza Hotel. The Park Plaza Hotel is centrally located right in the heart of Boston - easily accessible from the airport, metro, and major highways and roads. Created in 1927 by the great hotelier E.M. Statler as a grand American hotel, it was called a “city within a city”. Today it takes pride in serving Boston as a destination itself, housing under one roof some of Boston's most famous restaurants and lounges, including Todd English's Bonfire Steakhouse and McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant. The Hotel’s guest services include:

Transportation from the Airport

Car
Directions to the hotel by car and parking information can by found here. Note that self-parking at the Park Plaza is $31/day and Valet Parking is $40/day.

Shuttles
There are shared vans and shuttles that will take you from Logan to the Park Plaza for approximately $15. These include:

Taxis
Boston taxis are available at Logan Airport terminals 24 hours a day, and they provide service to all of New England. A taxi for the 20-minute ride to the Park Plaza costs about $30. Metered-rates from Logan Airport to Boston-area hotels range from $25-50. It is recommended that you ask the taxi driver for a receipt.

Subway (The “T”)
Total time from terminal entrance to the Park Plaza Hotel via subway is typically 25-40 minutes, depending on connections and the crowd.

  1. Look for a MASSPORT Shuttle bus (this is the shuttle to the subway) outside your terminal. (The shuttles stop at all terminals at a location marked “Airport Shuttle, to Terminals and Subway”). Depending on your arrival terminal, this will be either #22 or #33 and should be marked “Subway.” Bus #55 serves all terminals and the Airport Station during early morning and late night. Board the bus and take it to the subway (Airport Station on the Blue Line). The shuttle is free.
  2. At Airport Station, get a CharlieTicket (magnetic strip) or a reusable CharlieCard (smartcard) and load it with whatever amount you choose. The 1-way subway fare is $2.00 with the CharlieTicket (or cash) and a discounted $1.70 with the CharlieCard, so make sure you have at least this amount on the card. Proceed to the subway entrance. The Charlie Ticket is inserted into the slot and the CharlieCard is tapped on the card target and your fare is subtracted. Descend to the inbound platform and board any train. Take the train to Government Center.
  3. At Government Center, go up the stairs to the Green Line and follow the signs to the outbound platform. Board any trolley stopping at this platform and take it three stops, to Arlington Street Station. The hotel is about a block from the station at 64 Arlington Street.
