From Amsterdam Schiphol Airport

The most convenient way to travel from Schiphol Amsterdam Airport to Rotterdam is by train. Schiphol station has six direct train connections per hour to Rotterdam Central Station.This will take around 50 minutes and a single trip costs around € 10,80. Tickets are available at the entrance hall at Schiphol Airport (self-service ticketmachines). If you take the new high-speed train Fyra, you will reach Rotterdam Central Station in only 25 minutes. A single trip ticket with this train costs around €16,80, leaving every hour.

From Rotterdam Airport

Rotterdam Airport is a comfortable and easy regional airport (European flights only), situated at approximately 6 miles from the city centre. From there you can reach Rotterdam Central Station by bus (bus number 33, leaving every 15 minutes).

Public transport in Rotterdam

Public transport in Rotterdam is well organised: the trams, buses and metro are scheduled to link perfectly. Boats are also a convenient means of transport in and around the “water city” of Rotterdam. The Water Taxi is a very fast way to cross the Maas River and the Water Bus is an extremely suitable mode of regional transport.

OV Chipcard (Public Transport Card)

The card facilitates electronic payment for travel by public transport. Starting 11 February 2010 the OV chipcard is the only valid travel pass for public transport in Rotterdam. The intention is to eventually expand use of the OV Chip Card to cover all of the Netherlands.
