Title: Nonlinear Microscopy of Living Tumors and Their Treatment

Abstract: We will discuss the application of the multiphoton laser-scanning microscope (MPLSM) to the study of the tumor microenvironment. This will include its use in the quantification of angiogenic parameters and the study of tumor vessel permeability. We also will explore the use of an intrinsic contrast mechanism, second harmonic generation, to quantify modification of the tumor extracellular matrix, with the ultimate goal of improving therapeutic efficacy.
